I'm in my twenties and have been married to my sweet husband since May, 2009. I work as a graphic artist at a marriage ministry. It's my dream job! I have two sweet puppies—one is an energetic beagle named Paisley, and the other is a very large mutt named Crash (believe me, her name is very appropriate).
My husband and I have been trying to conceive since early in 2013. Here is our timeline:
May 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
June 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
July 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
August 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
September 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
October 2013: Thought I was pregnant. Nope, I'm just crazy.
November 2013: Started losing massive amounts of hair.
December 2013: Massive amounts of hair loss continues.Unclogging the shower drain every other day. Began wondering if something could be up? Had thyroid checked, and it came back good.
January 2014: Went to my oh-so-fun yearly pap smear. Was told to continue trying, and have sex every other day. Been doing that for months, doc. But thanks.
February 2014: Thought I was pregnant. Took 15 pregnancy tests, no joke. I'm just crazy.
March 2014: It will be a year in April. I better set up an appointment since at a year, we're officially classified as an infertile couple!
April 2014: Went to new doc. Began general fertility testing. All came back normal.
May 2014: Vacation! And guess what? Just going on vacation DOESN'T get you pregnant! I had high hopes on that common get-pregnant-quick tip. *sarcasm* Vacation actually made me not ovulate this month. So vacation is the WORST for getting pregnant.
June 2014: Went to have HSG done. Worst test to date! Came back abnormal. One blocked tube. Looked up causes of blocked tubes, and since STDs are out of the equation for me, began thinking, "Hmmm...maybe I have endometriosis. Maybe it's not so normal to have 9-day long periods and cramping the week of ovulation, the week before my period, and the week of my period."
July 2014: Went to doc to talk about HSG results and next steps. Doc suggests endo before I even got a chance. We both agree it's time to have a laparoscopy done.
August 2014: I assume I'm not get pregnant, so I just wait for my laparoscopy.
September 2014: I have my laparoscopy. Doc found endo, my blocked tube was blocked because it was strangling my ovary, ovarian cysts, and a fibroid. I've got pictures if you want to see them! Started losing massive amounts of hair again. I literally had to unclog my bathtub drain with a plunger since nothing else worked.
